Ben Frost represents one of today’s new breed of musicians that inhabit an amorphous cross-section of genres.  It’s impossible to truly classify where this experimental composer and colleague of the 802 Tour is coming from musically, but it would be safe to say his fans would also have records from Neurosis, Tim Hecker, Sunn O))) and Fennesz lurking in their collection.

The music of Ben Frost is about contrast: influenced as much by Classical Minimalism as by Punk Rock and Metal.  Underlying his often noisy, defiant aesthetic is a quiet and welcoming humanity, and a subtle sense of emotional drama which has increasingly led to work in film.  Frost composed the tender, ominous score for In Her Skin.
His newest release, By The Throat, has received rave reviews.
